Girl, 16, will represent her country in 2017 international robotics challenge



The international robotics competition 2017 has attracted thousands of students. Cameroon will be represented by a 16-year-old engineering student with unbridled passion for science.


The teen, only identified as Larissa, will be the only girl in the entire team selected from different countries across the world. The robotics programme, sponsored by FIRST Global, a not for profit organisation that seeks to encourage, support and motivate STEM students globally, is expected to take place in Washington DC. 

Those taking part in the competition are composed of students aged between 15 and 18 years old with passion in sciences. 

FIRST Global currently targets some 2 billion youths across the world with the programme. The young and aspiring scientists will be dedicated in finding solutions to various challenges in the societies across the world.
